and instructed us about the time of intercourse…?What i’m puzzled about is, She also prescribed LEVITRA for my husband although he does not have erectile dysfunction…I asked her if it is really needed during schedules of intercourse cause I don’t think my husband will have problems with his erection if ever, she said yes.

I have read about side effects of the drug, and so i am a little bit reluctant to let my husband take it. Is it really needed?

Please help. Thanks
to drana banana, yes i will tell you if i ever find out..thanks
to Layla, yes i have decided to look for another obgyn…i want doctors to be able to answer my why’s and whta for’s…she seems to be not interested in elaborating matters..thanks

Answer:

I would really talk to my doctor about it if I were you. I would ask, specifically, “why do you want my husband to take this? He does not have ED.” Let her know that you have questions and make sure she answers them. Doctors are not above the responsibility of communication just because they went to school for half their lives and we didnt.

In any case, Im wondering if she is prescribing it to assist in sperm quality? Although I would think she’d be better off prescribing some otc vitamins or something. But definitely ask her about it! Im really curious now too. If you get an answer I beg you to email and let me know what it is!

Good Luck!

How to use an erectile dysfunction drug?

Thursday, July 14th, 2011 | Permalink

So my Dr. gave me some Levitra to try.

What I’m trying to figure out is when to take it. It would seem that you have to have a discussion with your partner something like, “Okay, tonight, we will have sex (within a 6-8 hour window).”

It kind of kills the possibility of something occurring spontaneously. Do you agree? How do you approach this issue?

Answer:

Most ED drugs (Levitra, Viagra, & Cialis) peak in effect about 60 minutes from taking them. This site claims that taking Levitra with or without food shouldn’t make a difference in absorption, unless you consume a high fat meal (http://www.levitrafaq.com/take-with-food.html), which will slow blood concentration of Levitra from reaching its peak by an hour. Some urologists indicate that it is better if taken on an empty stomach (http://www.montereybayurology.com/urocond/GettingthemostoutofEDmedications.htm).

If you anticipate having sex in the evening, taking it around dinner time or just before might be a good idea. Otherwise, if complete spontaneity is your goal (& many women prefer sexual spontaneity), ask you doctor about Cialis instead, known as the “weekend drug” because it offers 36 hours of effect from a 20 mg pill. Recently, studies indicated 5 mg per day of Cialis is safe & just as effective as 20 mg every 3 days.

Regarding how long each drug lasts: Levitra- smallest window of opportunity for erections; Viagra- larger window of opportunity for erections; Cialis- largest window. Someone here mentioned contacting a doctor if the effects of the drug last longer than 4 hours. This needs to be clarified that if you have a single erection lasting longer than 4 hours (priapism), you need to see a doctor. Each drug allows multiple erections during the windows of opportunity, such that you can regain an erection again after ejaculating.

Hospital Consultant says keep taking your medicine – relate counselor says dont. What should i do then?

I have ED – I have recovered to some extent, just the hospital doctor said I should keep taking levitra daily. The relate counselor my wife and i were seeing says to stop (although she also said she did’nt wish to contradict what the consultant said!!) We are confused, and things are not sorted out yet. So what would you sensible people out there advise me to do?

Answer:

if i was you i would keep taking you meds, and ask to see the consultant again and talk to him about this. or ask for a second opinion at the hospital off someone with med degree i would not take the word of a counselor if it was my health. good luck also there’s a service with the nhs called pals patient advice liaison service will be in your yellow pages and they can talk to the consultant for you and help you understand you situation more clearly xx

what is the cost of levitra?

Monday, July 11th, 2011 | Permalink

Answer:

Levitra cost is 10-15 dollars per pill in the U.S. In some european countries levitra is non-prescription drug and much cheaper. Check with http://www.pompharmacy.com next time. i’ve been doing business with them for the last 2 years. they’ve been very reliable and trustworthy so far. Also, splitting higher dosage pills is a pain in the butt, but it does really save you big money. I do it and it does pay off.

19 and prescribed to take levitra?

What are the long term effects of taking it and is there anything else i can do beside taking ED meds?

Answer:

There are plenty, most linked to your cardiovuscular health, nausea, loss of hearing and eyesight etc…and in ‘rare’ cases – permanent impotence and heart attack. Those things aren’t safe in the long term.

Zinc is the safest and most approved natural help – and supplementing with it can help.

There are some less accepted herbal treatments that may act more as placebos but there is something to them.

If its just nerves and its psychological, it will pass with some patience.

Has anyone taken the anti-impotence drug Levitra and what were the results?

Particularly, how do the side effects compare with Viagra? Viagra worked for me but gave me very unpleasant hangover symptoms the following day.

Answer:

Since all three of the leading medications contain just about the same ingredients, the other two will probably have the same effect on you. Try them and see what happens is the only advice I can give you. I personally tried all three and none worked on me. I am presently using a injection therapy of Caverject and/or Edex, both produce a very hard erection that last up to four hours.

Anyone tried Levitra?

Monday, July 11th, 2011 | Permalink

Hubby just got Rx for Levitra. Has anyone tried it? What are the pros and cons? We are clueless about when to take it prior to the deed, how long it will last and exactly what will happen or what will it do? Of course we know why it was prescribed and what should be happening, I just want to know any expierences you guys may have had with it?
Thanks in advance!

Answer:

Yes I’ve found Levitra works better for me than Cialas or Viagra anymore. The other two used to work but the effect has now lessened. Take Levitra on an empty stomach and it seems to work for me fairly quickly; between half an hour and an hour. I can be standing doing something and syddenly feel it work.
